Sosamma Iype, a pioneer in conserving indigenous cattle breeds in Kerala from the brinks of extinction, has been honoured with Padma Shri, one of the highest civilian awards of the country. A life dedicated to saving the endangered cattle breeds has now finally received the nation's formal symbol of gratitude, after thirty years of perseverance.
