Description

The Thoombu is a traditional grain scoop crafted from natural reed, handwoven by skilled artisans using age-old techniques. Distinctive in form, it features curved-in sides and a gently pointed end, designed for smoothly scooping paddy grains.

Traditionally used during auspicious ceremonies, harvest festivals, temple rituals, and house-warming functions, the Thoombu plays a vital role in transferring grains into the Nirappāra, symbolising abundance, prosperity, and continuity of life.
