Description

Locally known as the Paala Hand Fan, this traditional cooling accessory has been used in Kerala households for generations. It is beautifully handcrafted from naturally fallen and sun-dried areca palm leaf sheaths, making it an eco-responsible and sustainable choice.

Each areca palm frond is attached to the tree trunk with a thick, curved sheath. As the frond matures and dries, this leaf sheath naturally detaches and falls, allowing it to be collected without cutting trees. (A frond is the long, feather-like leaf of the areca palm.)

The naturally shed sheaths are carefully cleaned, shaped, and handcrafted into elegant hand fans. No chemicals are used at any stage of the process, making every fan biodegradable, non-toxic, and safe for daily use.
