Swati Kritis are the jewels of compositions in the Carnatic music world. These Kritis are the compositions by Swathi Thirunal Rama Varma who was a patron of music. He was an ardent musician of both systems of Indian classical music, Hindustani and Carnatic. He is credited with composing over 400 songs in Carnatic music as well as Hindustani music. Some of his favorite compositions are Padmanabha Pahi, Deva Deva, Sarasijanabha and Sree Ramana Vibho.

An adept performer of Veena, Jayalakshmi Sekhar is well known among her audience for her pure classical rendering. She has been performing in Chennai during the annual music festival and also in other parts of India and abroad. In her career as a musician in the past 15 years she has received notable recognitions and awards.
