This movie attempts to capture the magic of the backwaters and their immeasurable influence on the land and the people of Kerala. Cradled by the seas and mountains, Kerala also has a large number of interesting water bodies. Nestled among thick coconut groves on both sides, the backwaters of Kerala offer a fantastic holiday and also a view of the rural life over the land.

Houseboats or Kettuvalloms (traditional country boats) cruise in the backwaters offering a very relaxed vacation for travellers. Spread among the lakes of Vembanad and Ashtamudi the backwater destinations of the state are Ernakulam, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kasaragod, Kottayam, and Kumarakom. Altogether the state offers about 34 backwater sites nestling on the shores of Kerala.
