The DVD Rhapsody in a Ripple (The Backwaters of Kerala) captures the ripples of the placid backwaters of the state. Kerala, the verdant paradise of India, is the favourite haunt of Varuna, the God of the Seas. Shimmering backwaters crisscross the state giving it an ethereal beauty. Beautiful backwaters of Kerala in which visitors ply aboard houseboats, present a memorable travel and cultural experience.
This movie attempts to capture the magic of the backwaters and their immeasurable influence on the land and the people of Kerala. Cradled by the seas and mountains, Kerala also has a large number of interesting water bodies. Nestled among thick coconut groves on both sides, the backwaters of Kerala offer a fantastic holiday and also a view of the rural life over the land.
Houseboats or Kettuvalloms (traditional country boats) cruise in the backwaters offering a very relaxed vacation for travellers.
